Alt Firmware

CoralFlower turns the M-VAVE FM-1 into a chord instrument inspired by the Telepathic Instruments Orchid. Chord-type keys transform played roots into chords with an optional independent bass part, using two keyboard layouts and 27 scales. An arpeggiator offers nine patterns, including strumming, while a looper records chord progressions with overdub, undo, and timing correction. Virtual-analog and FM engines provide editable chord and bass sounds. Six reorderable effects shape the output, and USB MIDI sends chord and bass notes on separate channels. A pixel flower or coral grows from the notes you play. It is built on ChoralRoot and Felucca, with a browser version for trying it before installation.

Browser tools handle sample preparation and backups, and an emulator lets you try it with your own audio. It is a beta candidate with hardware verification pending; direct recording and resampling are outside its scope.

Noiz Demons is a Felucca-based FM-1 firmware by SPIKE the Percussionist that turns sound randomization into a themed performance tool. Its per-track Ritual mode selects from 30 demon characters, with each rank controlling how widely parameters can change. A summoning can reroll an entire track, an FM6 patch, or an envelope, LFO, or effects section. Each track displays its own animated sigil that responds to the sound. Summoned sounds can be saved as presets or projects and recorded as automation. Turning Ritual off restores normal editing and graphs. Installation uses a locally built firmware package and the project’s USB-MIDI flashing tool.

Ghoulbox adds dungeon-themed patterns, MIDI CC control and an old-RPG interface with a skull startup screen, sword cursor and animated torches. A prepared scene starts in D minor at 72 BPM. The browser installer connects to the FM-1 over USB and saves a backup before installing.
