Gridzilla adds a drum grid, an arranger and melodic note editing to the Akai MPC Sample. The grid supports zooming with the encoder, placing notes by hand and recording pad performances live. The arranger lets you place sequences along a timeline and record directly into the arrangement, with patterns also available in the drum grid. Melodic mode displays note pitches and provides transposition, note-length editing, chords and scale lock. Hold Shift and press Seq to enter Gridzilla; the MPC Sample’s stock step sequencer and song mode remain accessible alongside it.

AM Mod
Extensiongithub.com
AM Mod expands the Akai MPC Sample with a pad-based step sequencer, event editing, per-pad EQ, resampling and batch sample tools. It also adds clearer parameter displays, pad-based name entry, scale lighting, folder search and project-management shortcuts. The mod starts from an SD card and runs a patched copy of the stock application in RAM; Project → Mod Off returns to the stock application. Installation uses the SD-card installer or an autorun folder copied to the card. Save work to External storage, because Internal storage is temporary while the mod is running. AM Mod supports MPC Sample firmware 1.3.0.12 only and requires an exFAT card with a supported volume name containing no spaces. The feature guide distinguishes hardware-confirmed functions from trial modes.
SampQOL OS
Extensiongithub.com
SampQOL OS expands the Akai MPC Sample with multitrack sequencing, sample editing and mixing tools. Pad and track views support step editing, recorded mutes and automation fades, while a mixer adds inserts on pads, tracks, submixes and the master. Per-pad EQ, linked sample slices, resampling, a looper and stem export extend the sampling workflow. Scale, chord, arpeggiator and MIDI keyboard modes provide additional ways to play samples. The mod runs from an exFAT microSD card without flashing the device; starting without its autorun folder restores the stock workflow. Compatibility is limited to MPC Sample firmware 1.3.0. SampQOL OS is beta software: back up projects before use, as a failed load can remove samples used by the mod. The manual explains its project recovery system, changed shortcuts and compatibility limits.
