Model909 is a drum-voice modification for the Elektron Model:Cycles, with TR-909-inspired percussion in place of the stock machines. Voices cover kick, snare, rim, clap and toms, with user-supplied samples for hats and cymbals. Building the modification requires the user's own official OS file; the project documents separate stable and experimental branches.

Model-TG
firmwaretinygregaudio.github.io
Model-TG is unofficial alternate firmware by TinyGregAudio for the Elektron Model:Cycles, based on stock OS 1.13. It adds a seventh Sampler machine with one-shot, loop, slice, granular, time-stretch, Karplus–Strong and wavetable playback, plus stereo samples and per-step sample locks. Resampling captures individual tracks, the full output or USB audio, while beat-repeat and master effects expand live performance. The additions also include attack, filter and resonance controls for the original machines, parameter slides and scale locking. A browser-based builder applies the changes locally to your own stock OS file; the project does not distribute Elektron firmware. Model-TG is not endorsed by Elektron. Its code and documentation use the MIT license.
Modded Cycles
firmware18nelli18.github.io
Modded Cycles is a collection of unofficial firmware modifications by 18nelli18 for the Elektron Model:Cycles, based on stock OS 1.13. Its browser-based flasher lets you choose modifications and build them locally from your own official firmware file. Options include six-channel USB audio for separate track stems, latching mute, trig preview, scrolling sound names and an arpeggiator. Additional options integrate the Model-TG sampler and selected Syntakt engines; the Syntakt engines require your own compatible Syntakt OS file. A separate crossflash option runs the Model:Samples OS on Model:Cycles and requires both official OS files. The project distributes tools and patches rather than Elektron firmware, and is not affiliated with Elektron. Compatibility and recovery requirements vary by modification.
model-tweaks
firmwaregithub.com
Firmware mods for the Elektron Model:Cycles and Model:Samples (OS 1.13). You supply your own .syx, and the mods you pick are built into a new file.
ms-multi-output
firmwaregithub.com
ms-multi-output is a multichannel USB audio project for the Elektron Model instruments. It separates the track outputs into individual USB channels, allowing each part to be recorded and processed independently in a DAW. This gives the hardware's patterns a more flexible route into mixing, effects and arrangement on a computer. Model-specific build tools cover the different device configurations, using the owner's official system files to create a custom update. The project includes documentation for channel routing and computer audio setup. Its focus is on bringing separate track recording to a compact hardware workflow.
Cycles One-Shot
firmwaregithub.com
Cycles One-Shot adds a sample-playback machine to the Elektron Model:Cycles alongside its stock sound engines. Samples are selected through the device's preset browser and stored with the sound. Start, length, pitch and filter controls shape playback. A browser upload tool manages sample files, while looping and reverse playback depend on the selected integration build.
