OP-XY MNMD brings Monomachine-inspired synthesis to the Teenage Engineering OP-XY. Its catalog machines include FM DYN, FM PAR and FM STAT, pulse and ensemble voices, SID-style synthesis and the VO-6 vocal engine. Each machine plays chromatically and presents its sound controls across encoder pages within the OP-XY workflow. The repository also contains experimental Machinedrum and sample-based engines with separate build requirements; some require data captured from the owner’s own ROMs. Use Open-XY’s released catalog to select the engines available in the browser builder.

matriXY turns the Teenage Engineering OP-XY into a pin-matrix synthesizer. Three routing pins connect an eight-by-eight grid of oscillators, noise, modulators and sound-shaping destinations, with the patch shown as a wireframe landscape. X and Y move the selected pin, Tilt changes musical ratios and modulation behavior, and Snap delays routing changes for controlled transitions. Destinations include output, pitch, wavefolding, filtering, ring modulation and digital reduction. Found Motive’s custom firmware expands the Teenage Engineering OP-XY with additional instruments and effects that run on the hardware. Its engines include a fingerpicked guitar, a tempo-locked groove kit, an eight-singer choir, a sample-free piano, upright bass and shaker, alongside tape effects and vocal autotune with harmonies and freeze. Built using Open-XY, the project brings new sound-design options into the instrument’s existing workflow. The creator’s website provides downloads, demonstrations and installation instructions. This firmware is for the OP-XY; it is not an OP-1 or OP-1 Field release.
