Zen Delay Guildfordia's Mod is a firmware modification for the Erica Synths Zen Delay that adds tempo control, MIDI CC control, an input send and a freeze. The TAP button switches between three time modes: free delay time, tap tempo, and sync to incoming MIDI clock, where the DELAY TIME knob selects musical divisions of the beat, including triplets and dotted values, with the plain beat at noon. A double tap or a MIDI CC freezes the delay so that whatever is in the loop repeats indefinitely, and the TAP LED shows the mode, the beat and the frozen state. MIDI CC on channel 16 controls feedback, delay time, delay mode, tap, time mode, freeze and an input send that closes the delay's input for dub-style throws while the repeats continue. The feedback and delay time knobs don't drift and take control back from CC values. The analog controls, bypass and the analog vintage mode are unchanged. Installation uses the Zen Delay's audio update process: a patcher script on the user's computer turns the official update file into the modded one, which is then played into the unit's input, and the official firmware can be restored the same way.
