Opus 2 Plugin Kit

Opus 2 Plugin Kit helps developers create synth engines, effects, themes and workflow extensions for the original Teenage Engineering OP-1 running Opus. It provides C headers, an API reference, plugin manifests and Python tooling for creating, building and inspecting .opmod files. Example projects demonstrate an audio effect, a tape-view tool, a theme and a synth with a custom display. Plugins can use the instrument’s sound lists, pages, controls, settings and storage, with declared dependencies and resource requirements. The documentation covers compiler setup, installing a plugin on the OP-1 and checking its behavior before sharing it. The documented toolchain setup covers Linux and Windows; macOS setup remains unverified. The related OP-1 Mod Registry documents shared names and resources used by community mods.

COSMOS

COSMOS is a drone synthesizer for the M-VAVE FM-1 whose sound follows the sky and weather at a chosen location. A continuous drone supports layered instruments shaped by sunlight, cloud cover, air pressure, the moon and geomagnetic activity. The display draws the sun, moon, planets and stars, while a sweeping star arpeggiator turns their positions into notes. WiFi brings in weather and space-weather readings, while offline and manual modes let the instrument run without a live connection or put those sources under the knobs. Planet selection changes the harmony, and the keyboard plays chords over the evolving texture. A browser emulator provides a way to explore the controls and sound.

FM-SWITCH

FM-SWITCH is a free native firmware manager for the M-VAVE FM-1. It lets you browse firmware, save it for offline use and switch the connected FM-1 over USB. It checks firmware packages and the connected device before installation, verifies the result afterward and can resume an interrupted install. Optional iCloud sync keeps saved firmware available across Apple devices. The app can back up projects and samples when the FM-1 is running M-VAVE’s open firmware. On Mac, it also supports whole-flash backup and restore through the FM-1’s download mode. The desktop app requires macOS 14 or later; iPhone and iPad versions are available through TestFlight. Windows and Linux builds are not listed by the developer.

Daath is a witch-house bass machine for the Teenage Engineering OP-XY. Drifting saw oscillators and a sub voice feed asymmetric drive, a pitch-tracking lowpass and digital degradation, with tape-like pitch movement for dark, unstable textures. Swarm, Grave, Hex, Murk, Rot and Wow shape detuning, low-end weight, distortion, filtering, bit loss and pitch drift. Included presets provide starting points from clean bass to crushed and warped sounds, while a grimoire-style display follows the controls. Installation uses Open-XY.
