Boss is a division of the Roland Corporation, renowned for manufacturing effects pedals for electric guitar and bass guitar. It began with early products like the 1974 B-100 The Boss acoustic amplifier and launched its iconic line of compact pedals in 1977, including overdrive, phaser, and equalizer models. The brand expanded into rhythm machines such as the DR-110 Dr. Rhythm, digital studios, samplers, and later DSP-based modeling amplifiers like the Waza and Katana series, pioneering technologies including COSM modeling.
