LOF-1 is a lofi groovebox firmware for the M-VAVE FM-1 that builds an accompanying band around the notes you play. A lead voice is joined by chord accompaniment, bass, drums and a call-and-response voice. The harmony follows the implied chord of your notes, while autonomous lead phrases and evolving drum patterns let the session continue when you stop playing. Controls shape swing, chord richness, voicing and how busy the band becomes. A drum sequencer, momentary keyboard effects, preset storage and MIDI input, output and clock support live performance. Vinyl crackle, cassette hiss, tape movement, radio noise, granular smearing, reverb and echo add texture. A browser emulator lets you explore the instrument before installation.
