LXR02Open is alternate firmware for the Erica Synths LXR-02 drum synthesizer, with its own drum engine, sequencer with Euclidean pattern generation and menus written for the LXR-02's hardware. Kit, pattern, performance and global files from the original LXR drum machine load where the hardware allows, and the mix bus and outputs use the full 24-bit width of the converters. Its voice faders are active, the LOAD button opens step-mode editing, and bar buttons trigger the selected voice at two velocities and can be recorded. Samples placed in a samples folder (one-shot) or a loops folder (looping) on the SD card are copied into flash and appear by name as oscillator waveforms. The global menu adds oscillator interpolation, which smooths between waveforms when an LFO sweeps them, and a CPU monitor. It needs an MBR, FAT32-formatted SD card, installs with the LXR-02's built-in updater, and the factory firmware can be restored the same way.
