fm1-lofi is sampler firmware for the M-VAVE FM-1 that plays compact 2-bit, 16 kHz mono sample packs from the device's flash. Keyboard zones can hold a drum kit with a sample on each key, or spread a melodic sample across a chosen scale. Per-zone envelopes, LFOs, sample start and end points, and reverse playback shape the sound from the panel. An arpeggiator, live loop sequencer, send effects and punch-ins support playing and developing patterns on the device. The self-contained browser editor imports audio, slices and maps samples into zones, previews the encoded lo-fi sound and builds packs for USB or Bluetooth MIDI transfer. Sample preparation happens in the editor, while the instrument's performance parameters are controlled on the FM-1.
